A Roof Certification is a mandatory inspection for the insurance carrier to verify the condition and remaining life on your roof.

In Broward and Palm Beach County, Florida, a roof certification is required when you are selling your home or changing your homeowner’s insurance policy. The certification helps the insurance company determine the risk of insuring your property.

What will the inspector be doing?

The inspector will evaluate the roof’s condition and provide a report that includes the roof’s age, type, and estimated remaining life.
In order to certify your roof, the roof inspector will need to walk around the entire house outside and take pictures. He will also need to go on your roof to look for missing or cracked tiles. In some cases, the home inspector will also go into your attic, to verify there are no active leaks.
